I'd strongly suggest you use the subscription. It is 15 eur per 3 months, so if you had it running non stop you'd have it for 3 years before you break even and you can unsubscribe once you stop playing. I'd bet that in 3 years we will already have maybe Hoi5 or another few DLC so the math is even more in favor of "renting" now.

I am a couple of episodes ahead, actually at war with them. I will see if that is possible, we got a 99% warscore and just pillaging though no event and I don't believe you can vassalise such a big nation.

@@Alfapiomega that's too bad, pretty sure that there should be a mission or event that allows that to happen given that it's pretty hard to achieve parity with actual historical expansion without it

That is a great question, actually one that I was asking myself as well. I recorded this and the next episode yesterday, both have destroyer battles and in both cases it would make sense to have larger destroyers capable of fending off enemy destroyers. On the other hand this and the meat episode really demonstrate how threatening torpedoes are becoming and we will not always be facing destroyers (I hope). So your guess is ad good as mine. I will however definitely draw some lessons of off this for myself.

Honestly, if you have just the base game now, go with the season pass or what it's called. You pay like 6 bucks per month for all dlcs while you play. That gives you couple of years of gameplay before you would break even and any time you stop playing, cancel your subscription and get it again once you start again. Or wait for a huge sale.

Cultures spread automatically in MEIOU. The biggest effect I know of is the unrest reduction and increase of the "weight" of your culture for further assimilation.
